10 mind bending movies you need to see today!

When it comes to movies, I might confess that I have a weird sort of taste. I like old movies, horror movies, mystery and crime movies, etc. But one of my absolute favorite categories stands in the form of mind bending movies. I don’t care if they are old or new. If they have a plot that leaves me having to see it a second time to understand. Or even if I just have something to think about at the end of the movie, then it is a win in my book. But, of course, not all of these are done right. So I have just a few recommendations of successes when it comes to this type of movies.

So, what I want you to understand from the beginning is that I have seen every one of these movies. And I recommend each and every one as strongly as I can. Because all of these are good movies, that may or may not be recognized. But they are movies that will leave you something to think about. And I am sure that you will recommend them further.

Mind Bending Movies:

Being John Malkovich (1999)

This was a movie that took me a while to convince myself to watch. Because honestly I thought that I would not like it. But I have to admit that after the first 10 minutes I was sold. And this is one of those movies that you won’t completely know what is happening even at the end. But that is only part of its charm and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

If you are fond of twists and turns in every scene, then this is your movie. Just don’t blink too often because you might miss out and loose track of the action. Or should I say the real action. Because after the first few minutes you won’t know what is real anymore.

Donnie Darko (2001)

With this movie, the subject of mental illness comes into play. Or does it? I’ll let you be the judge of what is really going on with the young man in the main role. I would still have to watch the movie another time to get things straight.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

Now this is not your ordinary mind twisting movie. The movie starts on a rather plain and simple note, getting more intriguing and twisted by the moment. But the charm of this movie also stands in the overall view over relationships. And in the idea that you may never be able to forget someone who has left a mark in your life. Or can you?

Funny Games (1997)

This next film is not for the fainthearted. While the games are funny from the perspective of the two sadistic and extremely unlikable men, they may not be seen as such by the rest of us. This movie takes you into the mind of deranged people who enjoy hurting others for their own pleasure. While mind bending may be a stretch in the description of this movie, it will certainly leave a definite mark in your mind.
