At one point in time you may have looked at your staircase at home and thought that it looked kind of boring. If that has happened to you, then you are in the right place. In today’s article we will show you just how much you can do with your staircase. And we are not just throwing words out there. We have actual proof and projects that will surely get you inspired. But feel free to let us know if you have anything else in mind. And maybe share with us your own staircase project that you have worked on or are planning to work on.
For now, let me tell you what we have prepared and the ideas that we have for your decor. We all know that stairs are not the easiest things to change when it comes to their design. So we will just leave it like that. But no one said that we can’t decorate them just like any other piece of furniture in our home. Of course, we will be talking here just about the actual stairs. If you want to know how to decorate the general area of the staircase, please check out our other articles.
Take a step further in your staircase decor
Therefore, when it comes to the actual steps of the stairs, there is little you can do with the decor. Mainly because that’s the area that you step on. So other than painting that surface in different colors or shapes and patterns, there is not much you can do. But even that is one gorgeous way to make your stairs unique. And if you decide to leave it at that, we couldn’t agree more. Although, we do have something for those who are willing to take it to the next level.
If you really want to make your staircase stand out and leave your guests amazed, then try decorating the risings of the steps. This is what almost all of the below projects are about. Be it with paint, washy tape, mosaic, chalkboard paint, writings, quotes, pictures or anything else you can imagine. All of these are acceptable and there are many more out there. We will only share a few with you to get you inspired and on the right track. There is nothing wrong that can happen and no bad decision you can make. Just take that extra step (pun intended) and go for it. Don’t forget to let us know how it goes!
